Of Pots and Pens: Bourbon and maple syrup sweet potato casserole

Thanksgiving might be over, but holiday meals are still happening — I hope! Why not take the whole month of December to fill up on these yearly treats?

Friendsgiving is a joyous occasion that has taken place nearly every year, in some way, with the collaboration of a friend who has enough space to host the masses of people and food. Tell a  group of journalists to bring a dish and wear stretchy pants and you won’t hear a bit of argument.

In fact, if you listen carefully, you can hear the happy cheers and champagne popping.

Our hosts this year, Jess and Aaron, put out the call for everyone to bring a favorite holiday dish. For Will, that’s his famous pasta salad, which I will never be able to blog about because it might mean he won’t ever speak to me again.

For me, it was making my first ever sweet potato casserole.  And I think I did a darn good job.
